Thanksgiving
Last week, the Canadians and I had Thanksgiving dinner. We wanted to make pumpkin pie, but there are no pumpkins here. We wanted to buy readymade pumpkin pie, but it's not a big deal here. So no pumpkin pie. Instead we had apple pie. Anyway, it was a nice dinner and good to have the company.
Yesterday I went to Navan, to see Claire. She made dinner and then we went out afterwards. Except I requested a song, and the DJ refused to play it... How rude!!
Nothing big to report on this end... just going to Cork this Friday... can't wait. It's the jazz festival and it's supposed to be a really good weekend in Cork. So I'm looking forward to it. Except they've jacked up the prices and we are paying 24 euros/night for a 6 bed hostel. Rip off.. but what can you do?
Thinking of going to Scotland for New Year's Eve... supposed to be a big party...

it is a great party-you need to get tickets for the street party or go early and sit in a pub in the area until after the streets are barricaded off. if you want to be in a pub, you'd have to go early anyway. otherwise, take a plastic (no glass allowed) bottle of alcohol along with you and just people watch, or watch the concerts/tv screens in the street. the fireworks are cool and Scottish people sing auld lang sine, the people who wrote the song :) it's amazing.
didn't have turkey or pumpkin pie for thanksgiving here either. oh, well.
